Speaking to NIPNA, Mohammad Hassan Nejad underlined
the petrochemical industry as a productive sector and a top priority of the country
in the field of economy, saying, “Petrochemical industry has definitely a
valuable and influential position in the Iranian economy and should always be
supported.”
The MP pointed out that in upstream policies of
the country, including general policies of the economy of resilience, one way
to wean the economy off oil and gas revenues is to increase exports of
petrochemical products.
“The industry provides the raw material for
many sectors of the economy which is very important.”
He underlined the importance of building and
completing petrochemical projects in the Iranian economy, adding: “Increasing
production and exports will bring prosperity to other industries in the country
as well.”
Many industries depend on the petrochemical
industry given that Iran's petrochemical industry is highly developed, the MP
said, adding that the country’s geographical position relative to other
countries with gas reserves is such that it can be used to develop
complementary petrochemical industries.
