Addressing a press conference, Hossein Shahryari
said the three phases of Pardis Petrochemical Complex accounted for 6.2 percent
of the global urea trade which stands at 42 million tons per year.
He said the company was also responsible for 65%
of Iran's urea exports.
"Each phase of the complex yields 680,000
tons of ammonia and 1.075 million tons of urea per annum," he said. "Totally,
the facility supplies 2.040 million tons of ammonia and 3.225 mt of urea per
year."
Phase III of the plant was 51% built by domestically-manufactured
equipment, Mr. Shahryari added, saying the project had created 646 direct and
1,200 indirect jobs.
Moreover, Phase III of the plant can export items
valued at over $257 million annually, he added.
The CEO further said his company was banking on building
urea and ammonia plants in Qeshm and Chabahar in the future.
