Speaking to NIPNA, Abbas Argon said that the petrochemical
industry of Iran can play an influential role in the country's economy by
enhancing export of items.
"Under the current circumstances, export of petrochemicals
including polymer and chemical products has been placed top in the administration's
agenda and enjoys its full support," he said.
Mr. Argon, who is also a member of TCCIM's trade facilitation
and export enhancement committee, further said that given the current
circumstances and restrictions on the country, as well as US economic pressure
on Tehran, the best way to eschew dropping oil exports is bolstering non-oil
exports by developing petrochemical output of the country.
"Completion of the petrochemical value-chain
and downstream projects is the best way to wean the country off export of crude
oil and gas," he added, saying the ground was fully ripe for the country's
economic progress via petrochemical activities.
"We need to enhance export of petrochemicals
more than ever," the official added.
