Behzad Mohammadi, the CEO of the National Petrochemical
Company (NPC) paid a visit to the plant on Wednesday, saying that launching the
facility was one of NPC’s top priorities.
Mohammadi, who is also the deputy petroleum minister for petrochemical
affairs, described the facility as a national honor for the country, saying the
plant is built by private investment and would operate with 7,000 tons/day of
methanol production capacity.
He said Kaveh Methanol was considered as a national brand
and the project would become even more profitable for the country provided that
the value chain of the item be completed the region.
The official further voiced NPC’s full support for investors
in the petrochemical sector, expressing optimism that private investors would transform
the sector rapidly.
Mohammadi further called for tapping domestic capabilities
for developing value-added projects what would benefit the country and
industry.
