Speaking to
NIPAN, Ali Asqar Yousefnejad, who is also a member of the parliament’s
presiding board, said that development of the petrochemical industry would lead
to a booming business environment in the country, therefore production of strategic
items needed to be focused upon to ensure sustainable development in the
sector.
He said petrochemical
products are among items that have the lion’s share of non-oil exports for the
country which is one of the strong points of the energy sector for Iran.
The MP further
added that Iran has a noticeable share in the global methanol, urea and polymer
products’ markets, adding Iran’s customers could not easily find substitutes
for the country under US pressure.
