TEHRAN (NIPNA) -- The former CEO of the National Petrochemical Company (NPC) who ran the company since the 1979 Islamic Revolution met in the company’s premises in Tehran on Tuesday.

The former officials discussed the best strategies for developing the country’s petrochemical industry.

Behzad Mohammadi, the current NPC CEO, hosted the meeting during which the guests aired their views about how to ensure prosperity of the sector in Iran.

The officials had run the company from several months to 8 years, said Mr. Mohammadi after the meeting.

The petrochemical industry is privatized in Iran and NPC acts as the sole state regulator of the sector.

Iran's petrochemicals sector can supply a whopping 60 million tons per items annually.
