Addressing a ceremony to laud the Reporters' Day,
Jafar Rabiei, the CEO of Persian Gulf Petrochemical Industries Company (PGPIC),
said, "The economic front comprises production and exports and the petrochemical
industry is leading in both areas."
"As everyone admits, we are currently in an
economic war. The dimensions of the economic war are more complex than the
military warfare," he said, calling on journalists to be vigilant on economic
fronts.
Mr. Rabiei further said that journalists must try
to disseminate good news in the society to bolster the spirit of hope given the
status quo and biting threats from the US president to re-impose sanctions on Tehran.
The US administration has announced a series of
new sanctions against Iran, aimed at driving its oil exports down to zero.
