"Exhibitions like IranPlast can lead to development of the petrochemical sector and introduce Iran's capabilities in the sector to the world," Hossein Amiri Khamkani, a member of the energy committee of the parliament, told NIPNA.
Khamkani said efforts must be made to generate value added by developing the petrochemical industry of the country, adding that attracting foreign investments and tapping domestic potentialities can be very instrumental in this regard.
Iran's biggest polymer and plastic industries' showcase, IranPlast 2017, will start on Sunday, September 24 through 27.
First Vice-President Eshaq Jahangiri is scheduled to attend the exhibition's opening ceremony.
The 11th edition of the event is being mounted with as many as 1,124 companies from 24 countries in the Iranian capital, Iran.
The fair is being held in the four sections of raw materials, end-used items, semi constructed items, machinery and services.
The exhibitors come from countries like Belgium, Denmark, Germany, Finland, France, Greece, India, Serbia, Italy, South Korea, Austria, Luxembourg, Switzerland, Spain, United Kingdom, Thailand, Czech, Cyprus, Turkey, Taiwan, China, Japan and the United Arab Emirates.
