Credit Lines Effective for Petchem Projects

TEHRAN (NIPNA) -- Managing Director of the National Petrochemical Company (NPC) Marziyeh Shahdaei says Chinese credit lines for financing five petrochemical projects have become effective so far.

 

Addressing a conference on the outlook of Iran’s petrochemical industry, Shahdaei stressed that the permission for completion of inactive petrochemical projects will be annulled. 

She offered an overview of the history of petrochemical industry and the NPC in Iran, and said the industry is almost half a century old in Iran. 

Shahdaei, who is also deputy petroleum minister in petrochemical affairs, said access to high seas, abundance feedstock resources and proximity to regional markets are the greatest advantages of the petrochemical sector in Iran that make it a luring choice for foreign investors. 

The official said bolstering the country’s petrochemical output in the future would be NPC’s strategies as the industry’s regulatory body, adding attracting of foreign investments will be also seriously pursued by the company in its future operation.
