TEHRAN (NIPNA) -- Iranian petrochemical plants produced some 28.753 million tons of petrochemical products in the first 7 month of the current Iranian calendar year which began on March 20, 73% of their nameplate capacity and 84% of the plants' planned output.

 

The data published on Iran's petrochemical industry performance in the first 7 months of the year, published by the public relations department of the National Petrochemical Company (NPC), indicate that the petrochemical facilities in Mahshahr Petrochemical Special Economic Zone, southwestern Iran, supplied over 10.22mt, while the 14 petrochemical plants in Assalouyeh, south of Iran, supplied 12.86mt in the 7 months.

The plants scattered across the country accounted for 5.65mt of the country's total output in the period. 

Furthermore, petrochemical plants supplied as much as 3.81 million tons of products only in the month of Mehr (September 22-October 21). 

The plants also exported 1.557 mt of products during the month and sold 1.124mt on the domestic markets, the data suggest. 

Petrochemical trade fetched the plants over $1.32b during the month.
