Iran Eyes 61.5 mt of Petchem Output by Yearend

TEHRAN (NIPNA) – National Petrochemical Company (NPC) says Iran's petrochemical production capacity will cross 61.5 million tons by the end of the current Iranian calendar year to March 20 2017.

 

Ali Mohammad Bossaqzadeh, director of production control at NPC, said the increase is can be compared to that of the country in 2013 which stood at 55mt. In the year, President Rouhani took office in Iran. 

The NPC official said since the beginning of the current calendar year, 4.5 million tons has been added to the county's total production capacity by inauguration of several major petrochemical projects including Mahabad, Lorestan, Ilam and phase II of Kavian petrochemical projects in different parts of Iran.

Furthermore, several other projects including Kurdistan, Hegmataneh, Kaveh methanol and phase III of Pardis petrochemical projects will also come on-stream by March 2017, adding 4.6mt/y to the total production capacity, he added.
