Addressing a meeting of senior petrochemical officials at NPC on Monday, Alireza Nariman Nejad underlined the role proper information dissemination can play in preventing formation of rumors when accidents happen in critical times.
The meeting was held with the aim of assessing the intensity and causes of a series of accidents that have taken place in a number of petrochemical plants over the course of the past few months across the country.
"Dissemination of rumors and false data about the incidents is one of the challenges of the recent accidents and it is necessary to devise a mechanism for releasing information about them when they take place," he said.
He also called on petrochemical executives to seriously take into account HSE instructions in their activities.
