TEHRAN (NIPNA) – Managing director of National Petrochemical Company (NPC) says Iranian exporters of petrochemical products need to close ranks and interact with each other in order to boost their outage and secure a lasting and firm foothold in international markets.

Marziyeh Shahdaei, who is also deputy petroleum minister in petrochemical affairs, told NIPNA that Iran's export of petrochemicals is at an acceptable state for the time being but exporters need to unite if they are to ensure sustainable and long-term exports.

"Various kinds of petrochemicals are being produced in Iran to supply the domestic and international markets," she said, adding, "Once commercialization of the items is done in an integrated manner, besides the domestic market, better export markets will ensue."

Shahdaei said talks are under way with heads and leaders of petrochemical holding companies to bring them together so that integrity of exports can be instilled in the sector.

"Integration brings a boom to exports and results in boosted share of petrochemical products in non-oil exports of the country," she added.

There are 55 Iranian petrochemical companies that export items as 12 holding companies, and this large number of exporters has put Iranians against each other in foreign markets.
