During visits to
Bandar Imam Petrochemical and Fajr Energy on Tuesday, Shakeri reviewed the
latest condition of damaged units and facilities and stressed the importance of
restoring production as quickly as possible.
“Every day that
the return of damaged units to production is accelerated benefits the country’s
economy, and every effort must be made to shorten the reconstruction period,”
he said.
Shakeri said the
targeting of the facilities underscored their strategic importance and made the
rapid restoration of production and economic activity even more urgent.
Domestic
Suppliers to Support Reconstruction
Shakeri
highlighted the capacity of domestic manufacturers and suppliers, proposing
that equipment and spare parts available in the warehouses of other companies
and ongoing projects be considered for use in reconstruction.
He said more than
7,000 domestic manufacturers and suppliers operate in the industrial sector,
adding that many had offered during the war to provide equipment and parts
needed by damaged facilities.
Their
capabilities should be used to accelerate project implementation, he said.
NPC Pledges
Support for Reconstruction
Shakeri stressed
that reconstruction work must continue without slowing down and said NPC was
ready to provide all possible support to the affected complexes.
The company would
assist with special permits, legal support and other measures within its
mandate and authority, he added.
The objective, he
said, was to resolve outstanding issues through cooperation and coordination
and return the petrochemical industry’s production operations to normal as soon
as possible.
Faster Recovery
to Benefit Wider Economy
Shakeri said the
rapid restoration of petrochemical production capacity had implications
extending beyond individual complexes, given the industry’s broad economic
role.
Petrochemical
operations are linked to people’s livelihoods, the country’s foreign-currency
revenues and payments related to pension funds, he said, adding that every day
of earlier restoration was significant.
He described the
Mahshahr petrochemical complexes as one of the country’s main petrochemical
hubs and praised employees for their efforts to restart units and restore
utilities and services needed by companies operating in the region.
Shakeri thanked
the managers and employees of Bandar Imam Petrochemical and Fajr Energy,
emphasizing continued cooperation to complete reconstruction and return damaged
capacity to operation.
During the
meetings, Bandar Imam Petrochemical CEO Ansari Nik and Fajr Energy CEO
Ahmadzadeh provided updates on their companies’ conditions and reconstruction
progress.
