TEHRAN, September 13 (NIPNA) - Iran’s National Petrochemical Company is seeking to make broader use of available technological capabilities to meet the petrochemical industry’s needs while supporting a more business-oriented and efficient operating environment.

Omid Shakeri, deputy petroleum minister and acting head of the National Petrochemical Company, called for greater use of existing capabilities during the annual general meeting of the Petrochemical Research and Technology Company.

Shakeri said the research and technology company should pursue a more agile, modern and technology-focused corporate approach as it plans its future activities, with its work aligned more closely with the development needs of Iran’s petrochemical industry.

“The full range of available capabilities should be used to meet technological needs while improving the business environment,” Shakeri said.

Aligning Research with Industry Needs

Shakeri said the Petrochemical Research and Technology Company should adopt a targeted approach to its activities and ensure that its research programs support the expansion and development of the petrochemical sector.

He added that knowledge generated by the company could also have broader applications across Iran’s oil industry, with the National Petrochemical Company prepared to provide support and cooperation.

The comments underscore the role of domestic research and technology capabilities in addressing the technical requirements of Iran’s petrochemical industry and supporting the sector’s development.

The Petrochemical Research and Technology Company is expected to chart its future activities around previously established plans while adopting a more corporate and technology-driven operating model.

Annual Performance Review

The annual general meeting was attended by Shakeri, members of the National Petrochemical Company’s board, and the managing director and board members of the Petrochemical Research and Technology Company.

The meeting reviewed the company’s financial statements, profit-and-loss account and performance for the previous fiscal year. An independent auditor and statutory inspector also presented their reports.

The company’s managing director outlined the board’s performance and the company’s activities in 1404, along with plans for the coming period.

The meeting concluded with the approval of decisions and assignments for the company’s future activities.

The annual general meeting is held to review financial statements and performance reports and to hear the report of the statutory inspector.
