TEHRAN, June 29 (NIPNA) – Iran’s Minister of Petroleum, Mohsen Paknejad, has officially issued a decree appointing Omid Shakeri as the caretaker supervisor of the National Petrochemical Company (NPC).

The ministerial appointment ensures immediate leadership continuity at the state-owned petrochemical regulatory body.

Dual Portfolio Management

According to the official text of the decree released by the ministry, Shakeri will assume the top executive responsibilities at the NPC while concurrently maintaining his primary role within the petroleum ministry's senior leadership.

In the directive, Paknejad cited Shakeri’s professional background, commitment, and valuable administrative track record as the core drivers behind the selection.

Focus on Operational Continuity

The ministerial mandate outlines clear expectations for the interim leadership period, tasking Shakeri with maintaining steady operational momentum across the sector. The decree emphasizes the following priorities:

  • Asset Utilization: Leveraging the full technical and administrative capabilities of the existing workforce and industry specialists.
  • Mission Execution: Ensuring the precise governance of ongoing corporate affairs and strict adherence to the company's strategic industrial missions.

The interim appointment is expected to bridge the regulatory oversight of the country's expanding petrochemical network until a permanent managing director is formally designated.
