TEHRAN, June 27 (NIPNA) - The board of directors of Persian Gulf Petrochemical Industries Co. (PGPIC) has appointed Hassan Abbaszadeh as the new chief executive officer of the continent's major petrochemical conglomerate.

The board finalized the decision during its strategic session on Tuesday, appointing Abbaszadeh to succeed Mohammad Shariatmadari. Following the transition, board members formally expressed their appreciation for Shariatmadari’s executive management during his tenure at the helm of the holding company.

Executive Background

Abbaszadeh brings extensive public sector and industrial management experience to the position. Prior to being elected as the CEO of the PGPIC holding group, he served as Iran's Deputy Minister of Petroleum and Managing Director of the National Petrochemical Company (NPC).

The corporate transition at PGPIC, which ranks among the largest industrial asset holders in the regional petrochemical network, is expected to guide the group’s mid-term investment, operational expansion, and product value chain initiatives.
