Ahmad Moradi, a member of the parliamentary Energy Committee, noted
that a balanced expansion across the petrochemical value chain is vital to
ensuring a steady supply of raw materials for downstream industries.
Economic Resilience
In an interview with NIPNA, Moradi emphasized that sustained
investment in the energy and petrochemical sectors acts as a core metric of
national economic resilience.
"When the oil and petrochemical sectors demonstrate the capacity
to maintain and rapidly restore production volumes, it signals the structural
reliability and stability of the nation's energy supply chain," Moradi
said.
The lawmaker noted that the parliament views the petrochemical sector
as a primary engine for national economic growth, adding that successful
production continuity has a direct, positive ripple effect across downstream
consumer industries.
Value Chain Optimization
A key priority for legislative backing remains the mitigation of raw
material exports in favor of higher-value intermediate and finished chemical
products.
Moradi highlighted that years of targeted domestic investment in
technical expertise and human capital have enabled the industrial sector to
manage its core technical and operational requirements independently. Such
domestic capabilities, he added, serve to strengthen national economic security
and broaden industrial output.
