The initiative covers all gas fields operated by the Central Oil
Fields Company and is designed to maximize existing production capabilities,
Paknejad said, according to remarks reported by Shana.
The minister said development activities across the oil and gas sector
have continued, including projects at the South Pars gas field and offshore
platforms, while the new onshore program has entered the implementation phase.
Under the plan, production increases are expected across all covered fields.
In parallel, Iran is advancing projects aimed at capturing and
utilizing associated gas. Paknejad said 30 contracts related to associated gas
recovery are currently under implementation.
Five associated-gas collection projects are nearing completion and are
expected to enter operation soon, he said. The projects are intended to reduce
gas flaring, improve environmental performance, and bring additional gas
volumes into the production value chain.
Paknejad added that several large-scale associated-gas recovery
projects have been completed over the past 18 months, noting that
implementation has accelerated with greater private-sector participation.
The government is pursuing higher gas output through a combination of
field development, production enhancement initiatives, and expanded recovery of
associated gas resources to support the country’s energy supply and industrial
demand.
