Omid Karimian said the National Petrochemical Company plays a central
role in enhancing coordination and alignment among petrochemical holdings and
subsidiaries, given the sector’s broad structure and economic importance.
He noted that the industry continued production during the recent
conflict period without interruption, describing it as an indicator of
operational resilience across oil, gas, refining, and petrochemical sectors.
Karimian stated that Iran’s petrochemical industry requires a
structured regulatory framework to improve coordination among market
participants. He added that such a mechanism could help streamline pricing
approaches, export processes, and broader operational policies across the sector.
He further stressed the importance of increasing cooperation among
industry stakeholders, noting that improved governance could enhance efficiency
and reduce fragmentation within the sector.
The lawmaker also highlighted the importance of energy consumption
management, while noting that the country did not face fuel shortages during
recent regional pressures, unlike some other countries.
