Ali Rabbani, Director of Energy Consumption Optimization at the
National Petrochemical Company (NPC), said the campaign demonstrated the
importance of community involvement, civil society organizations, and
collaborative initiatives in addressing national challenges related to energy
consumption, environmental sustainability, and social development.
Speaking at the closing ceremony of the campaign, Rabbani said
cooperation among government institutions, the petrochemical industry, and
non-governmental organizations helped create a framework for promoting
energy-efficiency practices while supporting broader social and environmental
objectives.
“The central message of Nabz Energy is that major challenges can be
addressed more effectively through public participation and collective action,”
Rabbani said. “The experience of this campaign showed that people are the most
important asset in achieving sustainable development goals.”
According to NPC, the second phase of the campaign recorded 175,000
registered subscriptions. While registrations were recorded on an individual
basis, organizers estimate that participating households collectively
represented more than one million families and a population exceeding three
million people.
Rabbani said the campaign was implemented despite a range of
operational and economic challenges, supported by cooperation among the
Ministry of Oil, the National Petrochemical Company, the National Iranian Gas
Company, and participating organizations.
The initiative also incorporated a social responsibility component.
Organizers announced the allocation of charitable contributions to selected
non-governmental organizations and the distribution of three cash awards valued
at one billion tomans each to campaign participants.
In addition, resources generated through the initiative will support
the release of six incarcerated mothers held for financial-related liabilities
and provide household assistance packages for low-income couples in the
provinces of Mazandaran, Golestan, and Gilan.
NPC said the campaign seeks to demonstrate how energy-saving
initiatives can contribute not only to improved resource management but also to
broader social and environmental outcomes through public engagement and
community-based programs.
