TEHRAN, June 8 (NIPNA) – Nouri Petrochemical Co. unveiled a commemorative stamp dedicated to the humpback dolphin of the Persian Gulf, highlighting environmental awareness and sustainable development initiatives through a joint effort with the National Stamp Council.

The ceremony was attended by senior government officials, parliamentarians, environmental authorities, and industry representatives, including members of the communications, environmental, and energy sectors.

According to Nouri Petrochemical, the stamp was issued to promote public awareness of marine ecosystem conservation and underscore the role of industry in supporting sustainable development objectives.

Speaking at the event, Gholamreza Jamshidi said the initiative reflects the company’s commitment to integrating environmental stewardship into its broader corporate strategy. He noted that sustainable development requires balancing industrial growth with the protection of natural resources and ecosystems.

Jamshidi added that social responsibility remains a core element of the company’s operations and that environmental performance is an important measure of long-term corporate success alongside production, innovation, and commercial achievements.

Representatives of the national postal service described commemorative stamps as enduring records of cultural and social priorities, noting that environmental themes can help preserve awareness of conservation issues through widely distributed public media.

Officials also emphasized the international visibility of commemorative stamp programs, with issued stamps becoming part of specialized collections and exchanges beyond national borders.

Environmental authorities attending the event highlighted growing attention to environmental matters within policymaking institutions and stressed the importance of maintaining conservation priorities alongside economic development initiatives.

Speakers noted that the humpback dolphin is one of the distinctive species inhabiting the Persian Gulf’s marine ecosystem and serves as an indicator of environmental health in the region. They said raising awareness of such species can contribute to broader conservation efforts.
