Speaking during a virtual session with members of Parliament, Mohsen
Paknejad outlined the Ministry of Petroleum’s actions to ensure fuel
availability for various sectors and regions. He said operational teams were
deployed immediately following the incident and implemented response measures
that helped manage the situation and sustain supply chains.
Paknejad stated that one of the principal challenges during the period
was maintaining the continuity of fuel distribution, particularly to northern
provinces. He said contingency measures and operational planning enabled
authorities to preserve supply flows and avoid significant disruptions.
The minister also emphasized the importance of public cooperation in
supporting efficient fuel consumption and reiterated the government’s focus on
resource management and energy sustainability.
The parliamentary oversight session was held to review government
policies and measures aimed at maintaining the stability of the country’s
energy supply and distribution network. The meeting was attended by 226
lawmakers, either in person or remotely, and was chaired by Parliament Deputy
Speaker Ali Nikzad.
Also participating in the session was Esmail Saqqab Esfahani, who
joined discussions on energy efficiency and supply-chain resilience.
