TEHRAN, June 01 (NIPNA) – Iran’s administration and parliament will support the reconstruction of damaged petrochemical facilities, according to a member of the Parliament’s Energy Commission, who said restoration efforts are expected to proceed following disruptions affecting parts of the energy sector.

Ramazanali Sangdoeini said the Ministry of Oil maintained energy supply operations during a recent period of regional conflict, helping sustain public confidence despite damage to some oil and petrochemical infrastructure.

He stated that affected facilities would be rebuilt with administration and parliamentary support, adding that restoration efforts are expected to move forward without significant delay.

Sangdoeini said industrial infrastructure, including facilities in the steel, oil, and petrochemical sectors, experienced impacts during the conflict. He noted, however, that core industrial operations have continued and that recovery measures are underway.

The lawmaker also emphasized the role of universities and research institutions in supporting the next phase of petrochemical development. He said academic institutions can contribute by preparing skilled professionals with expertise in production, maintenance, operations, safety, project economics, and value-chain management.

In addition, Sangdoeini highlighted the potential role of a regulatory framework in supporting the petrochemical sector’s development. He said enhanced coordination across the industry, alongside a strengthened role for the National Petrochemical Company, could facilitate investment, improve alignment among producers, and support the sector’s long-term growth.
