Supreme Leader: Future of Persian Gulf Region, “Without America,”

TEHRAN, May 1 (NIPNA) – In a message commemorating Iran’s National Persian Gulf Day, Supreme Leader Ayatollah Seyyed Mojtaba Khamenei outlined new legal and management principles for the Strait of Hormuz, envisioning a future for the region that is “without America.”

He asserted that security and economic interests in this future will only be achieved through the convergence of countries sharing a common destiny and by standing against oppressors.

The text of the Supreme Leader’s message on the occasion of the 10th of Ordibehesht (April 30), National Persian Gulf Day, is as follows:

In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

One of the unparalleled blessings of Almighty God for the Muslim nations of our region, especially the noble people of Islamic Iran, is the gift of the “Persian Gulf.” This is a blessing that transcends a mere body of water; it has shaped a part of our identity and civilization, serving not only as a point of connection between peoples but also as the vital and unique route for the global economy through the Strait of Hormuz and subsequently the Sea of Oman. This strategic asset has, over past centuries, ignited the avarice of many devils. The history of repeated encroachments by European and American foreigners, insecurities, losses, and numerous threats to the region’s countries are but a glimpse into the sinister plots of the world’s oppressors against the inhabitants of the Persian Gulf region, the most recent example of which was the recent swaggering display by the Great Satan.

The Iranian nation, possessing the longest coastline along the Persian Gulf, has made the greatest sacrifices for the independence of the Persian Gulf and in confronting foreigners and aggressors. This includes the expulsion of the Portuguese and the liberation of the Strait of Hormuz—the basis for designating the 10th of Ordibehesht as National Persian Gulf Day—as well as the struggle against Dutch colonialism and the epic resistance against British imperialism. However, the Islamic Revolution marked a turning point in these resistances, curtailing the influence of oppressors in the Persian Gulf region. Today, two months after the largest mobilization and aggression by the world’s bullies in the region, and following America’s humiliating defeat in its plan, a new chapter for the Persian Gulf and the Strait of Hormuz is being written.

The nations of the Persian Gulf region, long accustomed to the silence and subservience of their rulers in the face of aggressors, have witnessed over the past sixty days the beautiful manifestations of steadfastness, vigilance, and the struggle of the valiant men of the Army and the IRGC’s naval forces, alongside the valor and bravery of the people and youth of Iran’s southern regions, in rejecting foreign domination.

Today, by the grace of Almighty God and the blood of the oppressed martyrs of the Third Imposed War, especially the esteemed and far-sighted Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution (may his station be exalted), it has become evident not only to global public opinion and the region’s nations, but even to the sultans and rulers of countries, that the presence of American foreigners and their nesting and harboring in the lands of the Persian Gulf is the most significant factor of insecurity in the region. The hollow American bases lack the capacity to ensure their own security, let alone provide any hope for the security of the region’s dependents and American-worshippers by America.

By God’s might, the bright future of the Persian Gulf region will be a future without America, dedicated to the progress, comfort, and welfare of its peoples. We are “fellow sufferers” with our neighbors in the waters of the Persian Gulf and the Sea of Oman, and foreigners who maliciously sow mischief from thousands of kilometers away have no place there, except at the bottom of its waters. This chain of victory, achieved through God’s grace, under the strategy of a strong Iran and resistance policies, will herald a new order in the region and the world.

Today, the miraculous awakening of the Iranian nation is not confined to tens of millions of martyrs fighting against Zionism and bloodthirsty America. Leading the united ranks of the divinely appointed Islamic Ummah are ninety million proud and noble Iranian compatriots, inside and outside the country. They consider all their identity, spiritual, human, scientific, industrial, and foundational and new technological capacities—from nano and bio to nuclear and missile technologies—as their national capital and will safeguard them, just as they guard our water, land, and air borders.

Islamic Iran, by practically cherishing the blessing of managing the Strait of Hormuz, will secure the Persian Gulf region and dismantle the schemes of the hostile enemy from this waterway. The legal principles and the implementation of new management of the Strait of Hormuz will bring comfort and progress for the benefit of all nations in the region, and its economic boons will gladden the hearts of the people, God willing, though the infidels may resent it.
