Iran, Russia Sign 4 Cooperation Pacts

TEHRAN, Feb. 19 (NIPNA) – Iran and Russia signed four memorandums of understanding on Wednesday on the sidelines of their 19th joint economic cooperation commission, focusing on standards, accreditation, labor and oil research.


The agreements were inked between respective organizations and companies during the meeting in Tehran, according to state media.

The first covers an executive cooperation program between Iran's National Standards Organization and Russia's Federal Agency on Technical Regulating and Metrology for 2026-2028, signed by Farzaneh Ansari, Iran's standards chief, and Anton Pavlovich Shalaev, his Russian counterpart.

A second pact on cooperation was signed between Russia's Federal Service for Accreditation and Iran's National Accreditation Center by Mehdi Alipour and Dmitry Valeryevich Volvach.

The third memorandum, addressing employment development and labor inspection, was agreed between Russia's Federal Service for Labor and Employment and Iran's Ministry of Cooperatives, Labour and Social Welfare, with signatures from Parvaneh Rezaei and Mikhail Yuryevich Ivankov.

The final deal links Russia's Art Khimiya JSC and Iran's Research Institute of Petroleum Industry, signed by Azim Kalantari Asl and Andrey Vladimirovich Shpak.

The commission, which began work on Monday, featured 17 specialized working groups over the prior two days discussing various economic sectors.
