TEHRAN, Feb. 15 (NIPNA) — Iran’s National Petrochemical Company (NPC) said it has achieved a reduction equivalent to 1.7 billion cubic meters of energy over the past four years and announced the launch of 84 new energy-saving projects.

Ali Rabani, NPC’s energy optimization director, said the projects aim to reduce energy intensity and improve the country’s energy balance through investments in petrochemical and power-generation efficiency programs.

Rabani added that 300,000 households have joined the national energy optimization campaign, targeting 200 million cubic meters of energy savings this year. The first contracts for new power plant projects under these initiatives are expected to begin implementation in 2026.
