TEHRAN, Feb. 16 (NIPNA) -- National Petrochemical Company and the Iranian Red Crescent Society have conducted a joint humanitarian initiative delivering medical and health services to underserved communities in Iran’s southeastern Sistan-Baluchestan province.

The campaign, organised under a national volunteer service programme, took place from Feb. 2 to Feb. 7, according to a statement from the petrochemical industry’s social responsibility secretariat.

Specialised medical teams and Red Crescent volunteers were deployed to targeted villages in the southern part of the province, providing general check-ups, medical consultations, health screenings, primary treatment services and distribution of essential medicines.

Health packages containing basic hygiene and preventive care items were also distributed to vulnerable households, the statement said.

Officials said the initiative aimed to improve access to healthcare, support disadvantaged groups and contribute to public health indicators in deprived regions.

The programme forms part of broader corporate social responsibility efforts by the National Petrochemical Company, which in recent years has expanded cooperation with relief and community organisations to support local development and welfare
