The agreement covers production processes for methanol, olefins,
monoethylene glycol (MEG), heavy polyethylene, catalysts, and other chemical
consumables. The signing ceremony was attended by Hassan Abbaszadeh, Deputy Oil
Minister and CEO of the National Petrochemical Company, along with senior
managers from both companies.
Abbaszadeh praised the efforts of the executives and technical staff
of Shastan Holding and Bushehr Petrochemical, noting that the company is
finalizing one of the country’s largest petrochemical projects. He highlighted
the company’s integrated upstream-to-downstream operations and underscored the
importance of research and technology-driven growth for Iran’s petrochemical
industry.
During the ceremony, technical and research managers from both
companies presented their ongoing projects, capacities, and development plans.
They emphasized the need for domestic technical expertise, improved catalyst
quality, and completion of value chains in methanol, olefins, and MEG sectors.
The collaboration aims to boost productivity, reduce production costs, enhance
industrial independence, and foster innovation in Iran’s petrochemical sector.
The MoU was formally signed by the CEOs of the Petrochemical Research
and Technology Company and Bushehr Petrochemical Company.
