According to the team’s public relations office, young riders from the
Tabriz side delivered an exceptional performance in the 2024 premier league
season, earning the highest cumulative points in the road and track categories
for the 2025 youth division and reclaiming the club’s reputation in Iranian
cycling.
The results mark a major comeback for one of Iran’s most decorated
teams. TPC, historically one of Asia’s top cycling squads, previously won
continental titles and led Asian Tours during the 2007–2010 seasons.
Club officials said the team’s revival follows renewed institutional
backing, including the formation of the Tabriz Petrochemical cultural and
sports council in late 2024 under managing director Dr. Mirashrafi.
Re-establishing the cycling team was among the council’s first decisions, aimed
at supporting local youth talent and restoring the club’s competitive standing.
The latest victories, the company added, reflect both the depth of
emerging athletes in East Azerbaijan province and the club’s long-term strategy
to rebuild its elite programme.
