Rahim Zare, a member of the Parliament’s Planning
and Budget Committee, told NIPNA that the petrochemical sector remains a
cornerstone of domestic production and job creation, noting that its expansion
is essential for reducing crude exports and boosting value-added output.
“The petrochemical industry is one of the main
pillars supporting domestic production. Despite certain economic challenges, it
has achieved remarkable progress and plays a vital role in driving the
country’s economic development,” Zare said.
He emphasized that the industry’s advancement is
undeniable, adding that the parliament and the government are jointly
mobilizing their full capacities to promote this value-creating sector.
“Strengthening the petrochemical industry is
synonymous with national economic growth,” he noted. “Even under the toughest
sanctions, Iran’s petrochemical sector has secured major achievements and
generated substantial revenues for the country.”
Zare also highlighted the importance of new
investments, both domestic and foreign, in propelling the next leap in
petrochemical output. “We stand ready to support investors alongside the
government to ensure continued expansion in this strategic industry,” he said.
