Figures released by the SEO’s Market Supervision Department showed
that active investors — excluding those who only participated in initial public
offerings — totaled 594,780 during the month. Of this number, 592,493 were
individual investors and 2,287 were institutional entities.
Market data indicated that individual investors accounted for
transactions worth 2.01 quadrillion rials, or 67.7% of total market turnover,
while institutional investors and equity funds represented 11.6% and 7.7%,
respectively.
Among the most actively traded sectors were basic metals, oil products,
and chemicals, which together made up 33.5% of the total market value in
October.
The rise in active trading accounts underscores sustained retail
participation in the Iranian capital market despite broader economic headwinds.
