TEHRAN, Oct. 25 (NIPNA) – The National Petrochemical Company (NPC) has distributed 1,500 educational aid packages and 750 food parcels in underprivileged areas of Iran’s southeastern province of Sistan and Baluchestan, the company’s cultural advisor said on Saturday.

Hojjatoleslam Mohsen Mohammadpour, cultural advisor to the NPC managing director and head of the company’s Prayer Committee, said the initiative was approved by the company’s Cultural Council to mark the 1,500th anniversary of the birth of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).

The aid packages, he added, were distributed last week in cooperation with local organizations and institutions in impoverished villages across the province.

Mohammadpour emphasized that as new petrochemical units come onstream in Chabahar, companies operating in the region should give due attention to their social responsibilities.
“Cooperation and coordination among the petrochemical holdings active in the Makran region will ensure more effective and organized delivery of social services,” he said.
