The appointment, made by Hassan Abbaszadeh,
Deputy Petroleum Minister and NPC CEO, recognizes Kermani’s expertise,
professional record, and contributions to the field. According to the official
decree, Kermani will lead the company in supporting the strategic development
of Iran’s petrochemical industry.
Kermani’s mandate includes:
- Developing innovative solutions to address
challenges in the petrochemical sector.
- Identifying and resolving technological bottlenecks
to enhance value-added products.
- Managing commercialization of chemical synthesis,
catalysts, and industry-relevant technologies through knowledge-based
companies, universities, and research institutes.
- Implementing advanced technologies, including
artificial intelligence, in petrochemical processes.
- Aligning industry innovation projects with national
research and technology policies.
- Updating knowledge in the sector and promoting clean
technologies.
- Attracting, retaining, and developing highly
skilled, ethical, and specialized personnel.
The NPC highlighted that the appointment aims to
strengthen the research company’s role as a “key driver” for advancing
technical knowledge, optimizing production processes, and supporting
sustainable growth in Iran’s petrochemical industry.
