Tehran, Oct. 8 (NIPNA) — The Khuzestan Science and Technology Park and the Petrochemical Special Economic Zone Organization (PSEZ) have held a joint meeting aimed at expanding technological cooperation and strengthening innovation-driven infrastructure in Iran’s southwest.

According to a statement from PSEZ, the meeting focused on leveraging scientific and industrial synergies through the formation of a joint technology task force, the use of incentives under Article 11 (Clause “T”) of the Knowledge-Based Production Growth Act, and the renewal of an agreement on the Petrochemical Innovation and Creativity Center.

Mohammadreza Motiri, Managing Director of the Petrochemical Special Economic Zone Organization, said technology would play a defining role in the future of Iran’s petrochemical industry.

“In the second phase of the zone’s development, renewable and alternative energy projects will be prioritized,” Motiri said. “Supporting knowledge-based initiatives and fostering collaboration with scientific institutions are essential for enhancing efficiency and reducing production costs.”

Seyed Yahya Mirzaei Arjenaki, head of Khuzestan Science and Technology Park, reaffirmed the park’s readiness to assist innovative and technology-based firms operating in the zone.

“Khuzestan Science and Technology Park acts as a facilitator for knowledge-based enterprises and will provide the necessary infrastructure and support services to strengthen innovation in the region,” Mirzaei said.

The meeting concluded with an agreement to establish specialized working groups to design and implement joint programs aimed at advancing technological development and innovation within the Petrochemical Special Economic Zone.
