Mostafa Nakhaei said the event highlights only
part of the industry’s development, adding that petrochemicals remain one of
the main drivers of Iran’s economy.
“In today’s world, petroleum products play a
vital role in economic activity, and a significant share of these products are
linked to petrochemicals. IranPlast is the most important event in this sector,
displaying the industry’s products and capabilities,” he told NIPNA.
Nakhaei described petrochemicals as a “mother
industry” that feeds into other industrial sectors and creates jobs, calling it
a key engine for growth in developing economies. He said IranPlast offers a
platform for Iranian companies to boost engagement with global industry
leaders.
“The petrochemical sector has reached its true
position thanks to domestic expertise and is playing a central role in the
country’s economic development,” he said.
Nakhaei added that Iran holds all the tools,
resources, and capacities for building a profitable petrochemical industry,
stressing the need to make full use of these advantages and to support local
manufacturers.
