The book, Inspection, Control and Oversight (Preventive and
Deterrent), draws on comparative studies, practical experience and
knowledge management methods to highlight the role of inspection in improving
performance and ensuring compliance with regulations.
In the introduction, the author describes inspection as a systematic
process for gathering and interpreting information to assess whether a product,
service or behaviour aligns with predefined standards. He identifies five key
features of effective inspections: measurability, timeliness, clarity,
attainability and realism.
Sheikhiyanpour, a mechanical engineering graduate from Sharif
University of Technology, has more than three decades of experience in
operations, project management and oversight within Iran’s petrochemical
industry. His previous works include papers on perlite applications in
petrochemicals and contractor evaluation processes, as well as translations and
technical studies on project communications.
NPC Managing Director Hassan Abbaszadeh praised the publication,
calling it a valuable contribution to improving preventive oversight in the
industry and commending Sheikhiyanpour’s long service.
