TEHRAN (NIPNA) – Behzad Ansari, a well-known figure in Iran’s petrochemical sector, has released his second technical publication titled "Floating Roof Tank Design", offering a comprehensive guide drawn from decades of experience in refinery and petrochemical storage construction.

The 190-page volume was published by Danesh Bonyad and officially unveiled at this year’s Tehran International Book Fair. The book compiles Ansari’s field notes, technical documentation, and engineering insights developed over years of designing and installing over 100 atmospheric, spherical, and LPG storage tanks across major oil, gas, and petrochemical projects in Iran.

In a statement accompanying the release, Ansari described the persistent challenge of implementing design changes in large-scale tank construction—often hindered by rigid engineering protocols, materials constraints, and the time-consuming nature of technical approval processes. “The root of the problem,” he explained, “lies in the lack of fundamental conceptual understanding of tank design.”

He added that, while contemporary design often relies on engineering software or adaptation from previous projects, a conceptual grasp of design principles remains essential. The book aims to address this gap through a step-by-step educational approach, enabling engineers to confidently make modifications and perform calculations based on core design principles.

Ansari currently serves as CEO of Badr-e Shargh Petrochemical Company in Chabahar. His previous book, "An Introduction to the Construction and Inspection of Atmospheric Storage Tanks", was published around the same time last year and received notable attention within the industry.
