Iran to Launch One Major Oil/Petchem Project Every Month Through Year-End – Minister

TEHRAN (NIPNA) – Iran plans to inaugurate a major oil or petrochemical project every month from early June through the end of the Iranian calendar year in March 2026, Petroleum Minister Mohsen Paknejad announced on Sunday.

Speaking at a cabinet meeting chaired by President Masoud Pezeshkian, Paknejad said the monthly rollouts aim to accelerate growth in the country’s energy sector, according to the government’s official news portal.

The minister did not disclose specific project names or investment figures but emphasized the government’s commitment to expanding Iran’s energy infrastructure despite ongoing external challenges.

In addition to the Minister’s remarks, the cabinet session also included a report by the Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance on the successful organization of the Tehran International Book Fair, and a briefing by the Minister of Communications and Information Technology following a recent visit to China.

The meeting concluded with the approval of several executive bylaws related to Iran’s Seventh National Development Plan.
