The agreements, signed today (May 11), were attended by Hassan
Abbaszadeh, CEO of the National Petrochemical Company (NPC).
The first MoU, for the production of NPK (Complete Macro
Fertilizer), was signed by Mohammad Reza Motiri, CEO of the Petrochemical Special
Economic Zone Organization, and Oguz Origit, CEO of Razi Petrochemical Company.
The project, which will be implemented at Site 5 of the Special
Petrochemical Economic Zone, will have an annual production capacity of 250,000
tons and an investment of 360 billion rials.
This initiative aims to complete the petrochemical value
chain, counter the effects of sanctions, and strengthen private sector
participation. It is projected to directly create 150 jobs.
The second MoU, for the production of Polyacetal (POM), was
signed by Mohammad Reza Motiri and Alireza Barzin, CEO of Nakhle Asmari
Petrochemical Plant.
The $106 million project, to be executed at Site 2 of the
same petrochemical zone, will have an annual production capacity of 40,000 tons.
The project’s goals include enhancing the petrochemical value chain, utilizing
available capacities, and countering sanctions, and it is expected to create 220
jobs.
The 29th International Oil, Gas, Refining, and Petrochemical
Exhibition began on May 8 at the Permanent Exhibition Grounds in Tehran and
will conclude today, with visiting hours from 8 AM to 3 PM.
