HORMOZGAN (NIPNA) -- In a momentous ceremony coinciding with the beginning of the Fajr Decade, Pier 3 at Parsian Port was officially inaugurated with the distinguished presence of Dr. Ali Salajegheh, Deputy President, and Engineer Morteza Shahmirzai, Deputy Minister of Petroleum for Petrochemical Affairs.

The event also marked the commencement of the implementation of the flood control project, green spaces development, and a section of the fiber optic line in the northern site of the Parsian Special Economic Zone.

The inauguration took place as part of the broader initiatives during the second official visit of the people-centric government to Hormozgan province on Thursday.

Dr. Salajegheh, alongside Engineer Shahmirzai, CEO of the National Petrochemical Company, officiated the launch of Pier 3, one of the four active piers among the 19 at Parsian Port.

Currently, the port has an annual loading and unloading capacity of 9 million tons, with plans to increase it to 40 million tons in the future. The addition of Pier 3 is expected to significantly contribute to the region's economic activities and enhance its maritime capabilities.

During the sidelines of the presidential visit, the operational phase of the flood control project, green space development, and a portion of the fiber optic line in the northern site of the Parsian Special Economic Zone were initiated. Additionally, the inauguration of the Guard Building and equipment at the port marked a pivotal moment for the strategic area.

The developments underscore Iran's commitment to boosting its infrastructure and economic activities, showcasing its dedication to fostering growth and sustainability in the Parsian region.
