TEHRAN (NIPNA) – National Petrochemical Company (NPC) and the Ministry of Education signed a memorandum of understanding on Saturday to enhance human resources and create job opportunities in the petrochemical industry.

The deal was signed on the sidelines of the 27th International Oil, Gas, Refining and Petrochemical Exhibition in Tehran by Morteza Shahmirzai, deputy oil minister and NPC CEO, and Mehdi Kazemi, deputy education minister.

The memorandum aims to empower and train skilled workers at the national level and improve the business environment in line with the development and expansion of technical, vocational and skill-based education, according to the principle 6 of the fundamental transformation document of the Ministry of Education.

Shahmirzai said technical and vocational schools would be established in all operational areas as well as old and new hubs of the petrochemical industry.

Kazemi said skilled human resources were one of the important issues in today's world and there was a gap in skilled workers in various fields.

He said the education ministry would provide technical and vocational education near factories and industrial parks to make them more practical.

He expressed hope that with the launch of technical and vocational schools tailored to the needs of the petrochemical industry, they could take advantage of this opportunity to train human resources.
