TEHRAN (NIPNA) -- The National Petrochemical Company (NPC) has set its sights on completing the value chain and promoting balanced development as a strategic vision for the advancement of the petrochemical industry, the company’s CEO says.

This vision includes increasing production capacity, internalization, and diversification of product lines, according to Morteza Shahmirzaei, the Deputy Petroleum Minister and CEO of NPC.

Addressing the company's managers while paying tribute to the memory of Martyr Avini, Shahmirzaei highlighted the NPC's role as a policy maker, trustee, and leader of the industry.

"We set the important and strategic plans for the petrochemical industry every year, and all stakeholders, including holdings, investors, shareholders, and companies, follow the roadmap and planned tasks," he said.

Shahmirzaei stressed the need to move away from the sale of raw and semi-raw products and towards the production of final items.

"We must coordinate different departments in NPC to develop the valuable petrochemical industry," he added.

"The company has become dynamic and agile, and to realize our plans for balanced development, we need to increase convergence and cooperation with holdings and petrochemical companies."

To achieve this goal, NPC must prioritize knowledge acquisition, expertise, and study, Shahmirzaei noted.

He emphasized the need for efficient, experienced managers and experts to transfer their valuable experiences to young employees, thereby changing the dynamics of the industry and accelerating its growth in all dimensions.

Knowledge management, he added, must be a key focus for NPC going forward.

As NPC continues to chart a path towards balanced development and value chain completion, the petrochemical industry in Iran can look forward to a bright future, one that is characterized by innovation, efficiency, and sustained growth.
