Karoun Unveils Medical Polymer Grade

TEHRAN (NIPNA) -- Karoun Petrochemical Plant has unveiled its first medical item made of polyurethanes to replace orthopedic plasters.

According to Karoun Petrochemical Plant, Alireza Sedighizadeh, CEO of the company, on Sunday at a ceremony to unveil KLM100-OT grade of the plant, emphasized the support of downstream industries, adding: “By continuing this path, the country could reap great income and employment from downstream industries.”

He announced his readiness to provide the feedstock needed by Zarrin Dawam Ghaemshahr Medical Equipment Company - a manufacturer in the medical equipment industry - on credit, provided that at least 10 disabled people are employed among every 90 new recruits.

The CEO of Karoun Petrochemical Palnt called KLM100-OT grade the first medical grade of the company, and said: "We have already unveiled different grades in the automotive, footwear, furniture and construction industries, and with today's unveiling, we will see the unveiling of new Karoun grades in the field of medicine within the next few months.”

Sedighizadeh stated that this product, which is made of polyurethanes, replaces orthopedic plasters, adding: "This company is ready to fully meet the country's needs for these materials."

The item is produced based on the KLM100 platform. It is used in the production of resins, which are used in the production of polymer or synthetic orthopedic bands (fiberglass orthopedic bands).
