Touted as the largest tower of the country's petrochemical
industry, the structure is designed and built by local experts and has just entered
the plant for installation in the paraxylene unit.
According to Bu Ali Sina Petrochemical Company, Omid Azmian,
the project manager of the company's paraxylene unit, said the distillation
tower has been cuilt by taking advantage of the state-of-the-art technology.
He added: "Foreign parties were not willing to transfer
the construction knowhow of this tower to the country under the pretext of
cruel and unilateral sanctions. In such circumstances, the design and
construction of this huge and important tower was entrusted to Iranian youths
which led to saving at least €3 million.”
The tower weighs 1,200 tons and is 100 meters high.
Azemian continued: The paraxylene unit will reach the
pre-commissioning stage by the end of this calendar year and the paraxylene and
orthosylene products produced by this unit will be sent to other petrochemical
complexes in the country.
