Official Stresses Evaluating Improvement Projects

TEHRAN (NIPNA) -- The Director of Planning and Development of the National Petrochemical Company underlined the importance of evaluating improvement projects in the chain of producers, suppliers, service providers and downstream industries.

Addressing a specialized panel at the Petrochemical Industry Excellence Award on Wednesday, Hassan Abbaszadeh said 95 companies were evaluated for the last edition of the award, adding: "Apart from manufacturing companies, we try to expand the presence of suppliers, services and downstream companies."

Abbaszadeh noted that the Iranian petrochemical industry has been a leader in using new management tools in the country, adding: “Petrochemical companies need to increase productivity and equip themselves with state-of-the-art tools”.

He pointed to the approval of the Petrochemical Industry Excellence Award based on the EFQM model in the board of directors of the National Petrochemical Company in 2010, and added: “Accordingly, the quality evaluation of petrochemical companies is done in a coherent management format, and by holding this Excellence Award, companies are encouraged to take a step in this direction.”

"With the formation of this award, many trainings were done in this field and now we can say Iran’s petrochemical industry is that there is an excellent manager in all petrochemical companies,” he went on to add.

Abbaszadeh pointed to the training of more than 250 evaluators in the petrochemical industry based on standard criteria in eight Excellence Awards, and said: "Retraining is done every year and now about 100 people have received certificates from the European Quality Management Foundation."
