TEHRAN (NIPNA) -- The Director General of the Environmental Assessment Bureau of the Department of Environment (DOE) announced the good and serious participation of many petrochemical plants in the field of environmental protection.

Speaking to NIPNA, Hamid Jalalvandi underlined the efforts of the petrochemical industry to reduce pollution, saying: "Regarding the activities of the petrochemical industry, we see that the industry’s activities directly concern the environment. In other words, some petrochemical companies are selected as green industries of the country every year and pay the most attention to the environment.”

He added: "Sometimes it is observed that some petrochemical units are also among the polluting industries and the units that violate environmental regulations are introduced to the Tax Affairs Organization every year by the DOE to pay pollution taxes."
