Nourian said: “Ethane, as one of the products of Ilam Gas Refinery, which has a
lot of value added, was sent to the petrochemical plant for the first time in
December last year with the launch of the olefin unit of Ilam Petrochemical
Complex.”
He stated
that a significant amount of ethane gas has been sent to Ilam Petrochemical
since December, adding: “Before launching the olefin unit of Ilam Petrochemical
Complex, the produced ethane was consumed as a fuel in the refinery or was injected
to the national gas distribution network.
The CEO of
Ilam Gas Refining Company stated: “The production capacity of the refinery in
the first phase was 330,000 cubic meters per day, equivalent to 415 tons, and
in the second phase, 550,000 cubic meters, equivalent to 690 tons per day.
Nourian
noted that ethane is one of the five products of Ilam Gas Refinery, which along
with gas condensate and crude liquefied petroleum gas, is sent to petrochemical
plants for generation of value added.
