The second phase of the project is aimed at collecting
associated petroleum gas (APG) with $1.1 billion.
According to the public relations department of the Persian
Gulf Petrochemical Industries Company (PGPIC), the refinery’s CEO said the
facility would be fed by APG from the West Karoon region.
The project is coming online after 36 months since PGPIC
opened LC for financing it.
The refinery is scheduled to be officially launched by Iranian
President Hassan Rouhani on Thursday this week.
It is worth mentioning that this refinery, which is one of
the largest gas refineries in West Asia, was selected as the third
super-project in the world in 2020 and holds the record for accident-free work
in the history of our country's oil industry.
Operation of the Bidboland Persian Gulf refinery will
generate more than $700 million annually (if fully fed).
