The unit was launched officially by Iranian President Hassan
Rouhani via videoconference on Thursday.
With the opening of the plant, over 250 people will be
directly employed and 2,000 people indirectly.
Nasser Shamkhani, during the official inauguration ceremony
of Hegmataneh Petrochemical Company, said: “Hegmataneh Petrochemical Plant has
been built to produce standard medical grade PVC for the first time in Iran and
the region.”
He continued: "Hegmataneh Medical Plant came online with
38 million Euros of investment and with the participation of private and public
sectors and foreign shareholders.”
The plant is aimed out production of 45,000 tons of PVC in
the form of granular powder with standard medical grade.
The CEO of Hegmataneh Petrochemical Company stated the share
of domestic manufacture of equipment and machinery for production of this
important and strategic item is more than 70%, and the plant’s launch and
management has been with specialized and capable Iranian forces.
Shamkhani said: "The market for medical grade polymers was
worth more than $23 billion in 2019 and is projected to grow by 5.9 percent by
2025.”
